A complete system for steam sterilization + drying + cooling (to ambient temperature) allowing to treat 2m³/hour of a food product, consumes between 60 and 80 kWatts per Ton of treated material. The cost of energy is therefore minimal.
We would like to point out that this type of process is particularly
well adapted for fragile products and for products that require
a gentle and homogeneous thermal treatment, for throughputs from
20 Kg to 3 tons per hour, depending on the required treatment
and the type of material. Where a compromise usually had to be
found between quality and quantity, now both can be achieved
for a large range of materials.

REVTECH now
has an easily transportable trial
unit for evaluations in research establishments
or in technical centres. The unit can process between 20
and 80 Kg of material per hour for operating temperatures
up 400°C. It can be used for steam sterilization, drying,
toasting and roasting.
With
regards to the running costs of such a system, information
about electrical consumption has to be mentioned. As guideline:

of a food product, consumes between 40 and 120 Watts per
Kg of treated material. The cost of energy is therefore
minimal.
